Sanremo the town of flowers, of songs and the Milan – Sanremo bicycle race is the centre of important international sports events with well equipped sports premises. First of all the wealth of the sea discover its depth and navigate it in a sailing boat. The tradition of sails dates back to 1920,s when the sailing company was born, then transformed in “Sanremo Yacht Club”, organizer of the famous GIRAGLIA, a sailing boat race on the high sea in the Mediterranean.

The Sanremo Yacht Club hires sailing – boats and motor – boats and organizes sailing courses all year round. Boat excursions with the chance of catching sight of whales and dolphins in the Cetaceous Sanctuary. Leaving the sea behind us , up on the hills among century old olive trees we find the 18 hole golf course, built by the English in the 30’s , there are numerous yearly events. February: the winter international meeting; March the trophy of the two Riviera’s. During the holidays in Sanremo it’s also possible to play tennis in two prestigious clubs or trekking or mountain bike along the marine alp route.

For horse lovers the Solaro horse-riding club gives international level exhibitions, competitions and horse races. On the hill over looking the sea we find sheltered racing ground in grass and sand. On the small winding inland roads of Sanremo we have the yearly homonymous Rally which attracts thousands of keen spectators. On the coast road, Via Aurelia, one can cycle at ease on the same route of the Milan – Sanremo race.
